What does a New York apostille look like?
Corporation: Articles of Incorporation or Certificate of Incorporation generally include the name of the corporation, the address of the corporation, the purpose of the corporation, the type and number of shares, and the process of electing the board of directors.
LLC: Articles of Organization or Formation generally include the name of LLC, the address of LLC, the purpose of LLC and the names of the members of LLC.
The State of New York places a certification page on the verified copy of the original document on file. This is why it is called a "certified copy". The Secretary of State will certify that the attached copy of the Articles of Incorporation (for corporations) or Articles of Organization (LLCs) is a true copy of the corporate of LLC filing. The certification is signed by the Secretary of State and bears the Seal of the State of New York.
This document cannot be notarized. For apostille purposes, you will need to order a certified copy. Only certified copies can be apostilled.
