Birth, marriage and death certificates must be original certified copies signed by a public official such as the State Registrar (Judy Moulder), Director of Health Statistics and Vital Records at Mississippi State Department of Health.

To authenticate a transcript:
- Obtain a copy of the student's transcript from the records or administrative office of the school.
- The registrar's signature on the transcript must be an original.
- The transcript must be properly notarized with an acknowledgement and have an original signature by a Mississippi Notary Public.
- The document is then acceptable for a Mississippi apostille.
To authenticate a diploma:
- Obtain the diploma from the records or administrative office of the school.
- The signatures on the diploma must be properly notarized with an acknowledgement and have an original signature by a Mississippi Notary Public.
- The document is then acceptable for a Mississippi apostille.
