Kentucky apostille guidelines:
The following documents qualify for Kentucky apostilles:
documents notarized by notary registered in the State of Kentucky
documents certified by the County Clerk or Deputy County Clerk ( not all Deputy County Clerks are authorized to certify the documents )
documents signed by the current State Registrar of Vital Statistics (live signature of the Registrar is required for Mexico)
documents issued by Kentucky Secretary of State
Documents from Kentucky Department of Vital Statistics (birth, death certificates, etc.) must be signed by the current state Registrar Christina S. Stewart. If your document is not signed by the Registrar, contact the Kentucky Department of Vital Statistics at 502-564-4212.
Adoption papers, diplomas and transcripts, powers of attorney, etc. must be notarized by a Registered Notary in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The signature must be certified by the county clerk in the county where the Notary took the oath of office.
Divorce decrees must be signed by a judge and or circuit clerk. The signature must be certified by the county clerk in the county where the circuit court is located.
Diplomas and transcripts should be properly certified by School Regisrar and his/her signature must be notarized by a Kentucky notary.
