How do you prepare an Indiana high school, college, university transcript for an apostille?
The transcript must be certified/signed by a school official (principal, registrar, counselor, etc.) The signature of the school official must be original.
Sample certification:
The signature of the school official must be notarized by an Indiana Notary Public.
All notaries must use a seal that includes the following requirements:
- The words “notary public”
- The words “State of Indiana”
- The word “seal”. (Effective July 1, 2024, the word “seal” is no longer required)
- The name of the notary public exactly as it appears on the individual’s commission certificate
- The words “commission number” followed by the commission number of the notary public
- The words “My commission expires” followed by the expiration date of the notary public’s commission
If there is no space on the document, a loose certificate can be attached. The document’s date, type and signer should be noted at the bottom of the certificate.
