IMPORTANT NOTICE RELATING TO APOSTILLES

The New York State Department of State has revised the method in which it issues apostilles.

1. Revised Seal - The New York State Department of State Seal will be used for the apostille and authentications. The Great Seal of the State of New York will no longer be used.

2. Revised Method for Affixing Seal - Apostilles and authentications will be produced with a blue laser printed facsimile of the New York State Department of State Seal.

Legalization Requirements: Is Your Copy Acceptable for Legalization?

Only certified copies of Articles of Amendment issued by NYS Department of State are acceptable for Apostilles. A certified copy will bear the Seal of the Department of State, the signature of the Secretary of State and the statement that the document is in fact a true and correct copy of the original document kept on file in the Office of the Secretary of State.
